TCL, Xiaomi, and Other Chinese TV Brands Integrate AI Chatbots for Enhanced Viewing Experience

Beijing, Feb. 14 – Leading Chinese television manufacturers, including TCL, Xiaomi, and Haier, are incorporating AI-driven chatbots into their smart TV models, marking a major leap in interactive home entertainment. This follows a similar move by Changhong, Hisense, and Skyworth, which recently linked their TVs to the DeepSeek chatbot, an advanced large language model (LLM) designed to enhance user experience and drive new business opportunities.

AI-Powered Smart TVs: The Future of Home Entertainment

As AI technology continues to evolve, television manufacturers are exploring ways to make their products more interactive and intelligent. TCL and Xiaomi are currently testing AI chatbot integration in their latest 4K and 8K TV models, while Haier is reportedly working on an advanced voice-command interface powered by a proprietary AI system alongside DeepSeek.

A senior executive from a major Chinese TV manufacturer told local media that integrating AI models will enhance user interaction, allowing viewers to control TVs through natural language processing (NLP) and get personalized recommendations based on their preferences.

DeepSeek’s Role in Smart TV Evolution

The DeepSeek chatbot, developed by a leading AI startup, is positioned as a game-changer in smart home entertainment. According to industry experts, its integration into smart TVs will offer:

  • Enhanced Voice Controls: Users can navigate channels, search for content, and adjust settings using conversational commands.
  • Personalized Content Suggestions: AI-driven recommendations tailored to viewing habits.
  • Optimized Display & Sound Settings: AI will adjust brightness, contrast, and sound based on user preferences.
  • Smart Home Integration: TVs will serve as central hubs for controlling IoT-enabled home appliances.

Dong Min, secretary-general of the China Video Industry Association, noted that embedding AI chatbots in televisions will not only improve user experience but also increase efficiency in TV manufacturing by reducing software development costs.

AI in TVs: A Competitive Market Shift

With AI-powered assistants becoming mainstream, tech analysts predict that all major consumer electronics brands will adopt similar strategies by the end of 2025. Companies like Huawei, Oppo, and Vivo are rumored to be exploring AI-powered home automation features within their smart displays and TVs.

However, Wang Xianming, director of TV Industrial Chain Research at Runtu, cautions that the actual impact on sales and market adoption remains uncertain. “While AI integration enhances usability, its commercial success will depend on consumer reception and long-term technological advancements.”

As China’s AI and smart home sectors continue to expand, the race to AI-driven smart TVs is heating up, setting the stage for a new era of immersive, voice-activated, and intelligent home entertainment.
